Hair + skin studio · Asheville

Color that grows out
on purpose.

A hair and skin studio on Broadway in downtown Asheville. Lived-in balayage, precision cuts, and quiet facials, worked under north-facing windows by a team of five.

01 · The studio

North light, oak stations, and a jar of marigolds.

Priya Marchetti opened Marigold in 2019 with one rule: the color should look like it belongs to you, not to the calendar. Six years on, that is still the whole idea.

The room faces north, so the light stays even from open to close. That is the light you want a colorist working in, and it is the reason the studio sits where it does. Terrazzo underfoot, reclaimed-oak stations, ceramic tint bowls, and a set of brass shears that have been sharpened more times than anyone has bothered to count.

On the reception desk there is a jar of fresh marigolds. It is where the name came from, and we have never once let it go empty.

  • Founded in 2019 by Priya Marchetti, colorist and owner.
  • North-facing windows for even, honest light, open to close.
  • Reclaimed-oak stations, ceramic tint bowls, brass shears.
  • A jar of marigolds on the desk, kept fresh since day one.

Recent color, cuts,
and skin.

A few from the last month, treated the same way we treat the light: kept honest.

“Priya gave me the most natural grow-out balayage I’ve ever had. Six months later it still looks intentional.
